Hightower was named the "Best General Contractor" in 2006 by the Carolinas AGC.

Hightower received a Pinnacle Award for their construction of Building "C", part of the Charleston Financial Service Center built for the U.S. Department of State. The award reflects Hightower's efforts in completing the project using its unique partnering process that engages owners, architects, and subcontractors to work together to deliver a project on time with the best results possible.

In 2002 Hightower was awarded the Aon Build America Award for the restoration and renovation of the historic Charleston County Courthouse.

Hightower Construction Company, Inc. was awarded a 2001 Pinnacle Award by Carolinas AGC for the "Best Building Project" for restoration and renovation of the historic Charleston County Courthouse on Broad Street.
